You don't make several hundred plat merely by picking up every drop and selling it to the merchant. And to get that perfect drop that people will pay insane amounts for is just plain luck.

That perfectly sums up my frustration involving the current situation. Guild Wars was always said to stress player skill, not hours played (grinding/farming). That is true in PvP, but in PvE, at the minute the entire end-game seems to be all about farming for greens, 55'ing, and rushing your characters to end-game so you can take advantage of a particular exploit.
I don't know what the solution is, but I'd like to see some change in this regard by somehow seeing the focus shift from "farming" back to exploring and playing the game the way it should be played. Which involves adding incentive to play through the storyline.
But thinking again, all this mounting frustration is mostly due to GW being out for nearly a year without any major expansions (SF/Tombs doesn't count). So with the release of Factions, I'm hoping we'll see better incentive for playing PvE.
